The Amazônia exhibition ?
It carries a universal message for the protection of indigenous communities and the environment. It raises awareness of the humanitarian and ecological issues of our planet through art and culture.

From June 27 to November 30, the Palais des Papes presents the exhibition Amazônia by the famous Franco-Brazilian photographer Sebastião Salgado: more than 200 photographs, accompanied by projections, with a new creation by Jean-Michel Jarre.

Seven years to bear witness to the Brazilian Amazon
For seven years, Sebastião Salgado has crisscrossed the Brazilian Amazon, photographing the forest, the rivers, the mountains, the people who live there. This deep universe, where the immense power of nature is felt as in few places on the planet, has imprinted in the eye of the photographer striking images.

An immersive exhibition
Accompanied by a sound creation, a veritable world symphony imagined by Jean-Michel Jarre from the concrete sounds of the forest, the exhibition also reproduces the voices and testimony of the Amerindian communities photographed.

Hearing and seeing
Imagined and conceived by Lélia Wanick Salgado, this immersive exhibition in the heart of the Amazon is an invitation to see, to hear and to think about the future of biodiversity and the place of humans in the living world.
