Le musée Granet, Museum of France

Do you know what a museum called "Musée de France" is?
The «Musées de France» are museums approved by the State and which benefit primarily from its support. Is considered a “Musée de France” within the meaning of the law of 4 January 2002, “any permanent collection consisting of goods whose conservation and presentation are of public interest and organized for the knowledge, education and enjoyment of the public”.
In this capacity, and in order to make public collections accessible to the greatest number of people, the Granet museum has since this year contributed to the collective catalogue of the collections of the museums of France, JOCONDE, which contains more than 600,000 records of objects of all kinds  (archaeology, fine arts, ethnology...), mostly illustrated.
With this first payment, the Granet museum wishes to highlight its precious collection of Egyptian antiquities as well as works presented in its new exhibition that questions the genres in painting.
Gradually, new notices concerning the old collection and recent acquisitions will be made available to feed this catalogue and thus make its collections accessible to all.
